Day 3
[It's not long before they're both up in Ichigo's room, which...still looks about as bog standard as any of the dorms here, beyond the notebook lying on his desk and the inordinate amount of writing supplies he's managed to scrounge up.
When they're both fully inside and he shuts the door behind them, he gestures towards the room.]
Feel free to take a seat anywhere - except my bed.
[Because his bed is HIS BED, and they're not close enough friends for him to allow Akira on it yet. As for himself? He's just going to grab a pillow and sit on the floor.]

[he remembers how the Shadows of the people whose hearts they stole would always return to their "true selves" afterwards. how defeating and stealing the distortion changed that person's heart, and made them face the darker parts of themselves]
[but while that aspect may be similar to what Ichigo said about a shinigami proving themselves to a Zanpakuto, the part about awakening one's Persona definitely is not]
I see.
The initial awakening of a Persona is. . . a little different than that. They appear, and they take shape when the wielder displays a "strong will of rebellion" in the Metaverse.

[Because they're literally your own soul, after all.]
Mine is...weird. It's a bunch of skyscrapers and an endless blue sky...but it's sideways. And it can change depending on my mood, apparently.
[He doesn't actually live there, but he remembers the sideways Karakura, and how it had been so deeply underwater due to his despair over his actions on the dome of Las Noches.]
no subject
[. . . again, there are similarities to the Metaverse, but. it's different enough that Akira finds it a bit boggling]
How do you get to your own inner world?
no subject
[It goes pretty deep - literally communing with one's soul.]
no subject
So it's better to have someone guarding your body while you're there, right?
no subject
[He pauses.]
How do you access the Metaverse? You said something about the palaces being linked to a physical location, right?
no subject
[HE DOESN'T HAVE HIS PHONE ON HIM, but]
We have something called the MetaNav app on our phones. We open the app, put in the coordinates for a Palace, and it'll take us straight to the Metaverse.

[SO UH
LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING
Ichigo is actually technically from the early 2000's. Smartphones weren't exactly a thing, and he's just kind of figured the shitty tablets they got were just technology the raccoons had pilfered from some other world.]
no subject
You know, like the Recyclr app on our tablets?
no subject
[Pauses.]
...What year is it for you back home?
[JUST. With the way Akira's talking...]
no subject
2017?
[GAME TAKES PLACE IN 2016 BUT ENDGAME IS IN 2017 AND HIS CANONPOINT IS ENDGAME SO YA KNOW]
no subject
uh.]
....It's 2002 for me.
[Kubo never gives a date, but the series started in 2001 and an in universe year went by, so uhhhh]
no subject
You're an old man. . .
[AKIRA NO]
no subject
[OH?? MY GOD??? HOW DARE YOU???]
no subject
[HOW DARE HE INDEED, BUT ALSO, OLD MAN???]
no subject
[Ohhh my god this is awful]
At least we've found out that the raccoons also pulled us from different places in time with this.
no subject
Yeah. I hadn't even thought about that possibility.
no subject
Ugh, this whole thing just raises more questions! How powerful are those damn things?
no subject
I'm pretty sure they haven't even shown us their full capabilities yet.
[he was way too easy to manhandle Raquelle, is what he's saying]
no subject
[Robots often have secret weapons, right? At least they did in all of Inoue's sci-fi manga.]
If I had Zangetsu, I'd just slice them in half - but the sharpest thing in this school are kitchen knives.
no subject
[SAID SO DRYLY]
If I had my Persona, I'd just blast them to pieces. But we'd both be rich if ifs and buts were 100 yen coins.
[har]
no subject
[He's done the math - if there were 29 of them, then to get ten, 19 people would have to die.]
Hah, right. No chance of them giving that back to us, anyway. Not until we 'win'.
[He pauses, thinking.]
...If someone does end up dead, then...I guess my biggest fear would be voting for the wrong person.
[Since the rules state that the killer has the option to leave if everyone votes for someone innocent - and that would mean the group has the blood of an innocent person on their hands.]
no subject
[FOR "FUN." or whatever Tycoon's answer to Akira's question of why had been]
[Akira gives a small shake of his head]
I think that's something we should worry about if-- when-- the time comes.
no subject
[They're stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place, here.]
Because the other option is for us all to keep trusting each other, but have 6 people die at random.
[And that? that galls him.]
no subject
. . . while it's true that six casualties beats nineteen. . .
[ugh]
No. I hate thinking of it that way.
